In Miss Anita's classroom the students enthusiastically practiced constructing oral persuasive texts. They learned to differente between facts and opinions, and supported their points of view with thoughtful reasons. We also played the 2 Corners game where the children had to explain their choices.

The students discussed debating and came to the conclusion that if you really want to persuade another person, you need to be calm, confident and polite.

In Miss Lisa's classroom, we continued to read in groups. Our focus was on personal connections.
Revising narrative structure was another task for our small group to do. We discussed events and the problem. Our stories got longer and better.

In Mr. James' classroom, we also had to revise narrative structure and parts of the story. Shintaro and Lucas practiced sequencing color cards with various parts of an easy story. After that, we used a graphic organizer to plan Shintaro's and Lucas's own stories. As the week went on, we were adding to the story. Finally, all the parts were in the right place and Shintaro had a beautiful story about an orange fox and Lucas had a great story about a green dinosaur.

Last week I introduced the split dictation activity to my EFL students.
While checking the home reading notebooks I realized that lots of my students are confused and do not make good choices when creating their responses. Next week I will model the steps for the home reading process and hopefully, there will be less confusion.
